Competitors can create a piece of Iron Art, in their own time, prior to the event, using modern and traditional methods.

Conditions of Entry
- Each competitor will be allocated 2 hours to create a piece of Iron Art of their choice.
- Any method of fabricating iron is acceptable eg. Fire weld, oxy, mig etc, however forge and hammer work must be used during the fabrication process.
- Only regular steel stock can be used eg round, flat, square, tube, rhs, angle etc.
- No unusual products such as patterned lengths, balls, preformed rivets or decorative sections etc.
- Steel stock can be pre-cut and marked prior to competitors workshop time, however it must not be worked.
- An offsider or striker may assist the blacksmith however the striker must not perform any individual fabrication
- The piece can be finished ie painted, buffed or polished outside of the allocated 2 hours, but no extra fabrication is allowed. Fasteners and chains are allowed but are not to add to the visual appeal of the piece.
- A deduction of one point per minute will apply for any overtime
Judging will be done by a panel consisting of at least one technical judge.
Judges are not allowed to be present while the competition is in progress nor will they know who made each piece to ensure decisions are made on the merit of the final product only.
All works are to be donated to Charity Auction.
